The Brain In Trance
Hypnotherapy accesses the Feeling Brain by using the natural
and familiar state of trance. People go in and out of trance
states all day and don't realize it. Hypnotherapy can speed up
the release of fears, phobias, and emotional blockages by
tenfold or more over some conventional methods of
psychotherapy.
An important find is that hypnotherapy helps cure skin diseases
that are the result of some emotional trauma. Hypnotherapy aims
to help you change those old obsolete messages into triggers
that affirm and encourages your perceptions of yourself as a
worthy confident person. Usually with issues of self-confidence
clients take on average only four sessions to achieve a state
of assertiveness.
Everything that ever happened to you, from before you were born
is stored here on a cellular memory level. In your brain your
amygdala processes information, it sends it to the hippocampus
for short-term memory processing; then eventually the
information is sent to your pre-frontal cortex, the part of
your brain behind your forehead, the part that allows you to
think logically, and the part that distinguishes us as humans
from other animals.
Up to the age of 12, a child experiences trance states
throughout the day. Everything that we have every heard, seen,
smelled, touched or tasted since our brain was formed. It is
the information that determines how we react to any
situation.
Theta consciousness is often associated with deep sleep and
very deep levels of hypnosis or meditation. It is generally
believed that the so-called super human feats of the many
spiritual masters, such as those reported eating hot coals,
controlling body functions, and so forth, are achieved while in
theta consciousness.]
Theta activity has a frequency of 3.5 to 7.5 Hz and is classed
as "slow" activity. As sleep gets deeper brain activity begins
to slow.Theta is the level which most people go to when
hypnotized. If your mind were mapped while watching TV you
would find that you are not in full
consciousness.
